TAP-TAP DASH · Effective 21 July 2026
There are no accounts, no advertising and no tracking, and nothing here is sold or shared with advertisers. Two things do leave your device: the score and display name you post to the worldwide leaderboard, and anonymous counts of how the game is used. Both are described below.
The game saves the following using your device's local storage, so your progress survives between sessions:
Clearing the app's data deletes all of it permanently. Everything in this list stays on the device except where the next two sections say otherwise.
When you finish a round, the game sends your score, the display name you chose, the round's layout number and a summary of that round (how many targets of each colour you hit) to our server so the worldwide leaderboard can rank it.
The display name you pick is shown publicly to everyone who opens the leaderboard. Choose a name you are happy showing in public, and do not use your full real name.
No account, email address or advertising identifier is involved, and we do not attempt to work out who you are.
To understand whether people enjoy the game, the app reports a small number of counters: that a round was played and in which mode, that the app was opened, that a share button was used, and whether someone returned a day or a week after installing.
These are only ever counters. Each one records a date and a number, such as "5 rounds were played on 21 July", and carries no identifier of any kind, so it cannot be traced back to you or to your device. Whether you are a returning player is worked out on your own device, and only the anonymous total is sent.
Sharing is entirely optional and always started by you. When you share a challenge or score, the game creates a link that encodes your chosen display name, your score and the round layout, and may generate a score-card image on your device. These are handed to your device's share menu. Where they go from there (WhatsApp, X, and so on) is governed by the app you choose and its own privacy policy. Anyone who receives your link can see the name and score inside it, so share with people you trust and pick a display name you are happy showing publicly.
So that nobody can flood the leaderboard, the server counts how many scores arrive from a given internet connection each hour. It does this by storing a one-way scrambled form of the address, never the address itself, in a separate list that holds nothing else and is erased automatically once the hour has passed. It is not attached to your name, your score or anything else.
Leaderboard scores stay until you ask us to remove them, so that all-time rankings mean something. Anonymous counters are kept indefinitely because they are only totals per date. Abuse-prevention entries are erased within an hour.
Because there are no accounts, we cannot look you up. If you want a leaderboard entry removed, email us the display name and roughly when you played, and we will delete matching entries. Anonymous counters cannot be deleted individually, as there is nothing in them that identifies you.
The game and its leaderboard run on Cloudflare's network, and data may be processed in any country where Cloudflare operates. Everything is sent over an encrypted connection.
TAP-TAP DASH is suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only thing a player provides is a display name, which is optional in the sense that any nickname will do. If you believe a child has posted a name that identifies them, email us and we will remove it.
The game uses your device's vibration and audio for gameplay feedback only. Both stay entirely on the device and can be silenced through your system settings.
If the game gains a feature that changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change.
